We started TISA several years ago with a simple mission: to develop and apply technologically innovative solutions to satisfy the customers' needs and goals, and (in a more ambitious way) looking forward to achieve a positive impact on people too. In order to achieve this goal, we have partnered with Plored, an innovative social network that rewards you for being trendy, to develop a new version of this platform and the mobile app. That´s why today we're excited to announce that Plored has just been selected among other companies to participate in IA, the International Accelerator Austin-based program.
Few industries generate as much online content as fashion does. People are constantly browsing for the latest tendencies and ideas on the internet while they share and generate content that other users follow, which ultimately helps build and diffuse the brands. It was time to reward these people
Plored was created based on this premise, led by Maximiliano Del Hoyo (former Microsoft), and Ignacio López (former JP Morgan), Plored is a social platform integrated the main social networks in which people can share their outfits and make money at the same time.
TISA interviewed the co-founders Ignacio Lopez and Maximiliano Del Hoyo and here is what they told us:
How did Plored came up?
Internet is causing a revolution in the fashion industry and it brings great opportunities. It’s not the same when a company suggests you buy their products as when someone you know recommends you to buy that brand. The chances you actually buy are higher in the second scenario. Besides, dialogue between brands and consumers is no longer one-way, it has become dynamic. Plored is a solution where everybody wins.
How does the app work?
It’s very simple: First you have to sign up. Once you are registered you can start sharing your own outfits cool-hunting other people’s. Every time you upload a picture you are asked to tag the brand of the clothes you are wearing. For every “love” (similar to Facebook like) you get, you are granted with credit to spend in your favorite stores. Then, it is also very simple to make use of the credits. Once the user has earned enough money, they should click in the “make money” button and will get a virtual bill to spend in stores as well as online.
What are the benefits for brands that work with Plored?
What are the benefits for brands that work with Plored? First of all, targeted traffic. Plored technology generates quality traffic to the brands websites (whether it is e-commerce, institutional site or social networks). Second, viral marketing through integration with social networks and incentives for users. Finally, increase in sales generated by virtual bills earned by Plored users. Not to mention that a successful presence on the internet enhances the relationship of any brand with consumers or target audience. In conclusion, in addition to a direct and specific communication channel, Plored is also an innovative approach that unifies branding and generates demand, promoting brand presence in social networks and blogs. Additionally, this platform was designed so that everyone involved wins. For bloggers, Plored allows them to make profit by adding entries and tags. For photographers, they can generate profit by adding other people’s outfits to the platform or by working at Plored events.
Who is working in this project?
From the very beginning we were committed to have a super-star team, which began to grow as the project took shape. We are currently sponsored by some of the biggest brands in the industry, we have strong support from blogger and media, universities, photography schools, and a group of elite mentors.
In regard to technological development, we have the support of TISA, in fact, Ariel Sztern is our CTO, team lead and responsible for Plored technical aspects.
What’s next?
Late last year we started to diversify the idea to continue growing. We earned a place at Da Vinci Labs (Da Vinci Foundation, Uruguay) and Start-up Chile, so we have presence in South America and USA.
We are currently working on improvements to keep providing the best experience for users and partners, and we are finishing the mobile application development, which we hope will be ready in a couple of months.
