The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas is one of the most important trade show in the technology industry and, therefore, the perfect place for companies to boast about their most innovative products. 2016 show has just ended and besides a large list of announcements and presentations it also brought all kinds of products and some curious prototypes. Some are already for sale, some are not, and some may never be.
We made a list of the things that caught our attention these days, because not all of it was about drones and futuristic cars.
Withings Thermo, the smart thermometer
A new thermometer that replaces the classic mercury with 16 infrared sensors that are able to measure body temperature accurately in just seconds. The device also includes an application that serves to bring a custom registry and to create notes and alerts.
Code-A-Pillar, the new generation’s toy
Surprisingly, Fisher-Price attracted many people’s attention with a toy. The thing is this is no regular toy, this toy is geared towards very young children with the hopes of exposing them to the art of coding from the onset. The Code-a-Pillar is a caterpillar that helps toddlers create their first commands through different colorful, bright command icons that controls how the toy moves or acts.
Kodak Super 8 camera
Nostalgia also had its moment in Las Vegas. Kodak worked in collaboration with designer Yves Béhar to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Super 8 format with a great-looking camera that combines the best of both worlds, analogue and digital.
Ili, an instant translation device
It is likely that in the near future language is no longer a communication barrier, especially if a device like Ili hits stores. This device translates conversations in real time so you just press a button and talk and Ili will so its job to reproduce the phrase in a different language.
Ombra, the smart bra
Why use a Smart Band to measure steps or heart rate if you can wear a smart bra? A San Francisco company has introduced the Ombra, a smart bra that sends records of your physical activity to your smart phone in real time.

The first washer machine that not only washes and dries clothes, it also folds them. Quite a breakthrough for those who live alone and need the washing machine to take care of everything.
Relief band, el smartwatch for pregnant ladies
Relief band is a gadget designed to improve health. This is a wearable technology, just slip it on your wrist and the gentle pulses will stimulate the nervous system to re-balance the signals that cause nausea. This device stimulates acupuncture points for the treatment of nausea associated with pregnancy or motion sickness.
Immersit, 4D couch
Some people said this couch is alive, it is equipped with 4D technology. It starts vibrating and moving based on the film you are watching and it has been created by French company Immersit.
Sensorwake, olfactory alarm clock
This alarm clock designed by the French company Sensorwake uses beautiful, delightful scents (such as coffee or chocolate) that are released for two minutes to wake up users. In case you have a cold you can set it up to use the traditional beeping alarm.

Digisole introduced this Smart shoes that can be controlled via your smartphone. The Smart shoes can be heated or automatically tightened and can also tell us how many calories we burned.

This molecular sensor fits in the palm of your hand and allows to measure calories in food accurately. Even though it can be used to help people stay on track on diets it has been developed to help people who have diabetes or heart disease.
